This class explores interesting rhythmic challenges from different time periods and styles. We’ll look at some comparatively uncommon time signatures, music where the time signature is almost irrelevant, and music where the internal structure implies something different than modern notation suggests. We’ll discuss practice techniques for understanding a score, and turning that score into music under your fingers. And we’ll play a lot of music.
