This class will explore contextualizing a piece of music, setting it in a particular time and place. We’ll discuss topics to consider, and sources for where to learn about relevant political, social, and historical information that could influence how you choose to perform a piece. We would like to include discussion of pieces that attendees are working on, so if you have a particular piece that we can discuss in class, please contact Master Christian Fournier at cf@klocktower.org by May 10th with the title and composer of your piece..
